What You’ll Do

As a Youth Development Professional, you’ll help create a safe, engaging after-school environment where young people can learn, connect, and build confidence. This part-time, onsite role supports positive youth outcomes through consistent supervision and energetic program support.

Key responsibilities include supporting daily youth activities, maintaining a welcoming and orderly space, building respectful relationships with members, and communicating updates or concerns to site leadership.

Required qualifications/skills:
- Reliable availability for a part-time schedule (Monday–Friday 1:30pm-6pm)
- Comfort working with school-age youth in a group setting
- Clear communication, patience, and sound judgment
- Ability to follow directions, routines, and safety expectations

A Typical Shift

You’ll arrive and get set up for the afternoon, checking the space and materials before members come in. Once the program starts, the pace is active greeting youth, helping them transition between activities, and keeping the room calm and upbeat. You’ll spend time listening, encouraging participation, and helping kids navigate small conflicts or big feelings. As the day winds down, you’ll help with clean-up, quick notes for the team, and a smooth pick-up process so everyone heads home safely.
