Alexandria’s House, helps create a safe, structured, and nurturing home for young mothers and their children. This maternity group home supports young parents who are building stability, parenting skills, and independent living capabilities.

As the Youth & Families Supervisor at Alexandria’s House, you will oversee the daily operations, staff leadership, and program. You play a critical role in ensuring services are safe, compliant, trauma-informed, and aligned with VOA’s mission and strategic vision.

This role is centered on people leadership, accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence. You lead staff, support program outcomes, maintain strong funder and community relationships, and ensure the program runs smoothly day-to-day while meeting long-term goals.

You’ll work closely with the Program Manager to translate strategy into action—supporting staff development, overseeing budgets and contracts, and helping youth and families access meaningful, stabilizing support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide regular 1:1 supervision and professional development to support staff
• Address staff concerns, performance issues, and grievances with professionalism and consistency
• Oversee scheduling and ensure adequate staffing coverage across all shifts
• Ensure services align with Motivational Interviewing, Positive Youth Development, Harm Reduction, and Trauma-Informed Care
• Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws, funder contracts, and VOA policies
• Review client files and supervise HMIS documentation compliance
• Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to coordinate services
• Advocate for participants, provide referrals, and support crisis intervention when needed
• Oversee facility operations, maintenance, and emergency response
• Manage supplies, inventory, and procurement within budget guidelines

Relevant experience may include:

• Youth, family, or shelter program management
• Human services or nonprofit leadership
• Behavioral health or housing program oversight
• Staff supervision and contract-funded program administration
• Provide feedback on the effectiveness and feasibility of program strategies
• Support quality improvement efforts to strengthen services and participant outcomes

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 1 year of supervisor experience with one of the following: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or related field and 2+ year of working with children or youth

OR

• Master's Degree in Social Services or related field and 1+ year of working with children or youth

OR 

• High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of full-time experience in relevant field

Required Certifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to pass DCYF background check and driving record review
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto liability insurance
• CPR / First Aid / Bloodborne Pathogens
• TB test (current or within required timeframe)
• Food Handler’s Permit
