Advancement Services Intern

Summary

 This Alumni and Development Intern will support Advancement Services & Operations with a variety of data, systems, and project-based work related to the school’s transition from Millennium to Raiser’s Edge. The position will work approximately 10 - 15 hours per week. This position will end June 30, 2026.

Projects may include reviewing and organizing data, renaming and standardizing files, preparing files for imports or batch updates, organizing project documentation, supporting reporting and process improvements, and assisting with other ad hoc Advancement Services projects.

The intern will gain hands-on experience with Advancement Operations, CRM management, data quality, and the systems, design and processes that support an independent-school Alumni & Development program.

Essential Responsibilities

• Reporting directly to the Director of Advancement Services and Operations to support a variety of project-based work related to the Millennium-to-Raiser’s Edge transition and broader office operations. Projects may include data review and organization, renaming and standardizing files, preparing files for imports or batch updates, organizing project documentation, supporting reporting and process improvements, and other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in progress or recently completed is required.
• Willingness to complete projects in a timely manner
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to conduct and synthesize research findings accurately
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Superior organizational and project management skills, with an emphasis on attention to detail
• Proficient in using databases, excel and other tools, with the ability to learn new software quickly
• Able to work effectively and diplomatically with a variety of people, including supervisors, peers, and external stakeholders
• Demonstrates the highest standards of ethical behavior to ensure the confidentiality and security of donor information
• Able to demonstrate dedication to the mission of the Development Office at an independent school

Work Environment Characteristics and Physical Demand

• Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work. Must be able to remain on their feet for extended periods of time, go up and down flights of steps, as well as stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift.
• Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, etc.
• Must be capable of using visual display terminal with continuous wrist movement on a keyboard.
• Required to stand for long periods of time.
• Required to talk, hear, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Required to work evenings, weekends and holidays in conjunction with School calendar and events.
• Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. without assistance.
• Ability to see with normal parameters.
• Operate in a professional work environment.
• This is an in-person position.
