Mission of the Position 



The AmeriCorps Participant Experience and Hospitality Member will enhance the experience of individuals and families accessing services at Together by creating a welcoming, dignified, and supportive environment. The Member will strengthen participant engagement, increase access to resources, expand volunteer involvement, and develop sustainable systems that improve client experience and organizational capacity. 



Service Term 



½ Time AmeriCorps Service Position 



Service term and required hours determined by program guidelines 



Essential Service Activities 



Participant Hospitality and Engagement 



Welcome participants and visitors accessing Together's programs and services. 



Provide information about available services, community resources, and program opportunities. 



Assist participants in navigating the Choice Food Pantry and other service areas. 



Support efforts to ensure a welcoming, trauma-informed, and participant-centered environment. 



Provide shopping support and orientation to pantry participants, helping them understand pantry processes, available food options, and resource opportunities while promoting a positive participant experience.  



Support efforts to ensure a welcoming, trauma-informed, and participant-centered environment.  



Resource Navigation Support 



Help connect participants with appropriate internal and external community resources. 



Develop and maintain resource information materials and referral guides. 



Assist with identifying barriers participants face when accessing services and communicating trends to staff. 



Waiting Area and Facility Experience 



Support the organization and enhancement of participant waiting areas and common spaces. 



Develop activities, information displays, resource boards, and educational materials that improve the participant experience. 



Gather participant feedback regarding facility accessibility, comfort, and service experience. 



Outreach and Communication 



Create participant-facing materials, signage, and informational resources. 



Assist with communication efforts that increase awareness of services and community resources. 



Support outreach activities that encourage participant engagement and access to services. 



Capacity Building 



Develop participant experience standards, hospitality procedures, and volunteer training resources. 



Create systems that improve participant flow, communication, and access to services. 



Document processes and best practices to ensure long-term sustainability and continuity. 



Partner with the Volunteer Coordinator to develop volunteer training materials, engagement strategies, and sustainable systems that strengthen volunteer involvement in participant hospitality and support services.  



Performance Measures 



The Member will work toward outcomes such as: 



Increased participant satisfaction with services and overall experience. 



Increased utilization of available resources and referrals. 



Increased volunteer participation in hospitality and participant support activities. 



Improved accessibility of participant information and educational resources. 



Enhanced participant engagement and sense of belonging while accessing services. 



Creation and implementation of a comprehensive Participant Experience Program, including hospitality standards, volunteer informational materials, resource guides, participant feedback tools, and documented procedures that ensure continuity and long-term sustainability for future AmeriCorps members. 



Development of systems and resources that strengthen Together's capacity to provide a welcoming and dignified experience for all participants. 



Desired Qualifications 



Passion for serving individuals and families experiencing hardship. 



Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 



Ability to engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds. 



Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. 



Experience in customer service, hospitality, volunteer coordination, social services, or community engagement preferred but not required. 



Physical Requirements 



Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. 



Ability to move throughout the facility and assist participants. 



Ability to lift up to 25 pounds with reasonable accommodation. 



Ability to use a computer and other office equipment.
