Apprentice Teacher

JOB SUMMARY:                            

The Apprentice Teacher assists the Teacher to coordinate and implement daily preschool academy activities for the students in his/her classroom.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists in maintaining safe and clean classroom environment;


2. Assists in the supervision of children in the classroom;


3. Participates in all classroom and school related activities;


4. Keeps the Lead Teacher informed regarding classroom activities and events;


5. Able to work a flexible schedule; and


6. Provides such other related duties as may be assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: 

High school diploma or equivalent.

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE: 

Experience working with young children, e.g., summer camp.

OTHER RELATED REQUIREMENTS:

• Within 120 days of hire must enroll in the Hopkins House Early Childhood Learning Institute (ECLI) to obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA).
