Job Summary

You are applying for a facility attendant position to assist with the strength and conditioning program of the Athletics Department and its programs. The position supports the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with various tasks and responsibilities. Individuals do not have to be a current or former student-athlete to be eligible.  

 

Job Duties

 

Facility Maintenance

  • Assist with cleaning and upkeep of strength training equipment

  • Assist with laundry, in particular the washing of weight room towels

 

Strength Training Implementation

  • Assist with set up and tear down of team training sessions and strength equipment

  • Teach student-athletes correct exercise techniques

  • Lead various parts of team training sessions including (but not limited to): warm up, stretching, and individual sessions

  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Compensation

Position: Facility Attendant – Level III
Pay Rate: $12.00/hour

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a current UW-Superior student

  • Preference given to students who qualify for federal work study

  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Must demonstrate customer service skills

  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and during breaks

 

Additional Information

 

* Maximum of 20.00 hours/week for international student employees to comply with VISA requirements. Additionally, maximum of 25.00 hours/week for domestic students working under a student assist contract to comply with ACA regulations.

The University will not reveal the identities of applicants who request confidentiality in writing, except that the identities of ‘final candidates’ must be revealed upon request. According to the Attorney General, ‘final candidates’ under Wisconsin law means the five candidates who are considered most qualified for the position. See Wis. Stat. Sec. 19.36(7)(a).

Employment will require a criminal background check, and if you have prior work history within the last seven years with Universities of Wisconsin or State of Wisconsin agencies, a personnel file review check for employee misconduct. It will also require your references to answer questions regarding employee misconduct, sexual violence and sexual harassment. The University reserves the right to check references with notice given to the candidates at the appropriate time in the process.
