Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): 

Class Assistant helps take attendance, demonstrates steps, assists students during class practice, and runs practice sessions outside of regular class hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  Demonstrate movement



• 
  

  Encourage and help students learn movement during class



• 
  

  Tracking student attendance and occasionally communicating attendance record with students



• 
  

  Organize and lead practice sessions

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) 

• 
  

  Intermediate/Advanced Modern Dance experience and ability to demonstrate movement



• 
  

  Teaching/Leadership experience for running practice sessions



• 
  

  Must be available during class periods

Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching, kneeling/crawling, stooping, twisting/pivoting, climbing/balancing, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, and lifting objects up to 20 lbs. to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise to perform the essential functions.
