Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
To help the course instructor deliver and facilitate a high-quality laboratory experience that enables the planning and execution of student generated projects with GPS instruments, remote sensing data, and GIS software.
Transferable Skills:
Communication – speak, listen, present, provide feedback
Problem solve & trouble-shoot
Collaborative project development
Proficiency with ArcGIS software
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide content support sessions
Provide feedback and supplemental instruction to peers
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
Completed the GIS and Remote Sensing (EnvSt 255) course or the equivalent
Quantitative and/or mapping skills using software, such as, Google Earth or ArcGIS
Experience with the planning and execution of GIS related field projects
Clear and enthusiastic oral and written communication
Understand the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and identities
