Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): 

To assist the Bon Appetit Manager and Supervisors in running the day to day operations and to directly oversee and train the student workers. To serve the student body and guests, effectively and timely.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• 
  

  Enforce proper safe food handling of all student workers (hand washing, gloves, temp logs, etc.)



• 
  

  Coordinate breaks to ensure all student workers have 15 minutes to eat a meal during their shift.



• 
  

  Coordinate with student workers on closing responsibilities to ensure the dining hall is properly cleaned and shut down after service.

  Assist in the training of new student workers



• 
  

  Set up stations with appropriate utensils and serving pans



• 
  

  Compose and plate products according to guests’ desires



• 
  

  Assist Bon Appetit staff as needed



• 
  

  Keep work areas clean during service

• 
  

  Adhere to all sanitation, cleanliness, and safety guidelines

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) 

• 
  

  Minimum of two semesters working in Stav Hall or equivalent experience



• 
  

  Training in how to work all stations in Stav Hall, including the Servery and Salad Bar, or equivalent experience

Physical and Environmental Factors: 

This position requires crouching, stooping, twisting/pivoting, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs., and repetitive motions to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise, respiratory factors, chemicals, wet or humid conditions indoors, extreme heat, and proximity hazards and rare exposure to vibrations, extreme cold, and cramped quarters to perform the essential functions. Protective equipment is required to perform some essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
