Position Title\: Student Marketing Assistant - Social Media and Communication Specialist

Job Description & Job Description Breakdown:

 

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Create a campus presence for the Career team and the Career Center on campus and online through print and digital content

  • Maintain active communication via various social media sites (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)  

  • Create flyers to be used in both print and digital format

  • Research and identify best practices for the utilization of social media within campus offices

  • Utilize Instagram Analytics & other analytics websites (Inbeat.co) to help guide the type of content to post and to report on success of social media content

  • Assess the impact of social media communication on students, staff and faculty engagement and develop strategies on how to better implement these techniques in relation to the goals of the Career Center

  • Utilize technology resources such as Canva, Planoly, Google Drive

  • Create monthly or bi-monthly (or as needed) career cluster job blasts/newsletters to TCNJ students

  • Attend trainings and relevant meetings to understand the communication strategy of TCNJ and the Career Center

  • Potential to assist with the enhancement of the office’s website to better share our story with the campus and global community

  • Attend and support Career Center events 

  • Perform other tasks within the office as needed

Learning Outcomes

  • Focus on increasing social media engagement and sharing impact of posts with the Career Center staff

  • Increase collaboration with Academic Schools for marketing purposes

  • Gain exposure working with a diverse group of campus constituents and employers

  • Create original content for website news section including content related to professionalism, resumes, interviews, highlighting internships, etc.

 

Required Qualifications

  • GPA 3.0 or higher

  • Current sophomore or junior

  • Demonstrated experience or familiarity with communication strategies and marketing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge in Canva, Planoly, Photoshop, Wordpress

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive

  • Utilization of Instagram, YouTube and other social media platforms
