Job Description
The CASE Trips coordinator is responsible for organizing, promoting, and implementing Alternative Break service trips.
All staff members are required to attend CASE-sponsored events outside of the normal scope of position duties; it is expected that each staff member will work additional hours throughout the semester to ensure adequate staff coverage at these events
Specific Duties
Administrative
Meet weekly with supervisor, training, and professional development sessions
Maintain and update transition materials
Attend the summer and winter staff training retreat
Trip Management
Keep open communication with partnering organizations (e.g. Living Lands and Waters & Further Along) to trip and follow-up afterwards
Work with promotions team to create marketing materials for alternative break trips
Organize, promote, plan, and implement Alternative Spring Break Trip (e.g. Living Lands & Waters)
Organize, promote, plan, and implement Alternative Winter Break Trip (e.g. Further Along)
Facilitate multiple pre-trip meetings for each trip destination
Attend and lead both alternative break trips
Communicate adequately with trip attendees regarding risks, expectations, and other important details.
Act as mandated reporter in cases of emergency while on each trip
Evaluate and assess the program ability to meet goals of the office and university
Organize fundraising opportunities for trip attendees

Compensation
$12.50/hour
Cost of alternative break trips is included as benefit of position.
The University Centers Student Employment Program Wage Classification Scale classifies this position as Division I, Range I.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must be eligible for Federal Work-Study at the time of hiring and throughout employment.
Applicants must be available to work a maximum of 6 hours per week during the semester and attend meetings and events as necessary, including occasional evening and weekend commitments.
Applicants must be available to attend two separate week-long trips during the Spring semester.
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license.
Students applying for this position must pass a Criminal Background Check initiated by the University Centers.
Preferred Qualifications
The CASE Trips Coordinator must have knowledge of the CASE, be comfortable presenting information to large groups, and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with at least two semesters remaining at UWSP.
Education
The Trips Coordinator must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits) and be in good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher) at the time of hiring and throughout employment.
