Chaplain Service Intern

The purpose of this role is to assist the Priesthood and Family Department in its purpose to help God’s children joyfully live the gospel of Jesus Christ. This position provides meaningful educational experience for students preparing for service in chaplaincy. It offers an opportunity to apply principles learned in academic settings to real-world chaplaincy operations in a Church-supported environment. Under general supervision, the intern will assist with projects and assignments that support the mission of Specialized Ministries while gaining exposure to the pastoral, administrative, and organizational aspects of religious service.

We welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time internship opportunities. The final internship arrangements will be based on candidate experience, availability, and team needs.

Responsibilities will vary based on division needs and may include:

• Assisting with research, reports, and projects related to chaplaincy programs and support services.
  Planning outreach and training efforts.
• Communicating and coordinating with endorsed chaplains, Church departments, and partner organizations.
• Supporting Church policies and practices related to ecclesiastical endorsement and interfaith engagement.
• Participating in meetings, briefings, and other relevant experiences under the guidance of a supervisor.
• Completing assignments with accuracy, discretion, and confidentiality.

Must be currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from (within one year) an accredited program in chaplaincy, divinity, theology, religious studies, or a related field. Strong interpersonal, writing, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and maintain professional demeanor in all interactions.
