Job title: Discover – Discover GCU Host

Position Summary/Purpose: The purpose of this role is to serve as a GCU Ambassador to prospective students who attend the Discover GCU trip.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

• Support and promote GCU’s Doctrinal Statement

• Execute weekly event operations

• Present on trained information to groups of guests

• Provide positive and safe experience for guests

• Ensure inventory is adequate per event

• Ensure rooms are adequately cleaned and prepared for events

• Additional Tasks as assigned

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

• MS Office Suite

• Point of Sales (POS) systems

• SkyTouch

Qualifications:

• Experience with youth, preferably in a camp environment

• Flexibility and enthusiasm a must

• Excellent communication skills

• Outgoing and comfortable speaking in front of various groups

• Campus living and extracurricular activities within GCU strongly preferred to be able to provide first-hand experience to visitors

• Open weekend availability is a must

• Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week

Experience/Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

• Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.

• Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.

• Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
