Embedded tutors play a key role in supporting student learning both inside and outside the classroom. Responsibilities include attending classes to reinforce key concepts, providing one-on-one tutoring tailored to individual needs, and hosting study sessions that encourage collaboration and effective study strategies. By clarifying course material, explaining processes, and guiding problem-solving, embedded tutors help students develop the skills needed to become independent learners and persist toward their academic goals. This role bridges classroom instruction and tutoring, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Attend all assigned class sessions (or as arranged with the instructor) to stay aligned with course content, expectations, and class culture.
Build rapport with students by being approachable, professional, and encouraging participation in tutoring opportunities.
Collaborate with the course instructor to identify topics, assignments, or concepts that may need additional support.
Offer tutoring sessions outside of class, focusing on reinforcing key concepts, clarifying instructions, and supporting skill development.
Assist during class activities by answering student questions, facilitating small-group work, or guiding practice problems.
Model effective study strategies such as note-taking, time management, test preparation, and problem-solving.
Hourly rate is $13/hour
