Environmental Health & Safety Internship

Job Description:   

L3Harris is seeking a proactive and dedicated Environmental, Health, Safety, & Sustainability (EHS&S) intern to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of our EHS programs, policies, and training. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. 

Essential Functions: 

• 
  

  Assist in the development and improvement of EHS programs and policies 

  
  

• 
  

  Respond to employee concerns regarding health and safety issues 

  
  

• 
  

  Conduct hazardous noise surveys and perform Job Hazard Analyses 

  
  

• 
  

  Evaluate indoor air quality and track data from evaluations 

  
  

• 
  

  Coordinate with third-party contractors for EHS-related activities 

  
  

• 
  

  Participate in laboratory health and safety audits 

  
  

• 
  

  Engage in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations 

  
  

• 
  

  Contribute to health and safety reviews of chemical purchase requests 

  
  

Qualifications: 

• 
  

  Pursuing a degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Systems Safety, Human Factors or related field 

  
  

Preferred Additional Skills:  

• 
  

  Knowledge of OSHA, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), indoor air quality, hazardous noise, cranes, and aerial lift operations is preferred. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
