About the Role & Program
Andscape is a Black-led media platform dedicated to creating, highlighting, and uplifting the diverse stories of Black identity. Magnified by the power and reach of The Walt Disney Co., the Andscape umbrella includes an editorial division, book publishing arm, film and television division, and music publishing group, each united by the shared mission of illuminating the culture and experience of Blackness.
The Rhoden Fellowship trains future sports journalists from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Fellows will cover stories on race, class, and culture through sports, are campus correspondents for Andscape.
What You Will Do
Serve as on-campus correspondents and produce daily, weekly and monthly multi-media content for Andscape
Cover campus news, games and events such as the Big 12 women’s basketball tournament, the NCAA Men’s Final Four and the NFL Draft
Produce and edit a bi-weekly podcast about sports and HBCU culture
Required Qualifications & Skills
Journalism experience as a writer and/or reporter; proficiency in reporting and storytelling on multimedia platforms
Extensive interest in and knowledge about sports, pop culture, current events (as it relates to communities of color) design, editing, audio and public relations
Experience using tools such as WordPress and Photoshop
Social media savvy
Experience in shooting and editing video
Strong written communications skills
Education
Enrolled as a junior in an accredited HBCU in the semester prior to the internship and enrolled throughout Fall 2026 & Spring 2027
Major or previous coursework in Journalism, Broadcast, Sports Media, Communications or related major preferred

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the Summer 2026 season, 40 hours each week
Able to relocate to the Bristol, CT area for the Summer 2026 season. Housing details will be confirmed at the time of offer.
Able to work 10 hours per week during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 season. Fellows will work remote from their respective campuses during the fall and spring season.
