Organization's Summary Statement:
The Office of Communications in the School of Public Health is seeking a highly organized, deadline-driven student to assist with marketing and communications support for SPH events. The successful candidate will help plan, coordinate and execute a wide variety of materials and assistance for events, from small seminars to commencement, getting a behind-the-scenes role in helping ensure our SPH community knows about and can take part in school events.
In this role, the student will be expected to help with developing and sharing marketing materials, including creating social media, TV slides and newsletter content to promote events, managing reservations and sharing of physical marketing materials, setting up signs and banners in a timely manner, and other duties as assigned.
The role would be up to 10 paid hours a week at $16 an hour, with the ability to build set hours around your school schedule, and it has the potential to continue after the spring semester.
Learning Opportunities: This is an excellent opportunity to gain professional skills in communications, events management, marketing and graphic design.
Required: Knowledge of the UMD School of Public Health and evidence of organizational skill. Must be a UMCP student.

Physical Demands: Carry boxes less than 20 pounds, set up marketing materials like banners or signs.
Preferences: Skill using Canva to create designs, understanding of plain language principles. Major or minor in the School of Public Health. Student ideally will be available for future years should their work be satisfactory.
