Internship Description/Learning Objectives:
| The DYMON QUAD POWER Youth Internship is a paid summer leadership opportunity for middle school–aged girls participating in the DYMON Quad Summer Program. The DYMON Quad is a holistic youth development program that creates fun and engaging ways to support growth in the youth’s knowledge, tools, and skill building in the areas of: Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy, Health/Wellness, and Communication Skills. POWER Youth Interns participate fully in programming while also serving as the ambassadors and role models for younger campers. Interns gain hands-on experience in leadership, professionalism, teamwork, and job readiness while building confidence, purpose, and practical skills. They get the best of both worlds to participate and grow their leadership skills. |
Job Duties:
| ● Demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, and active participation in all program sessions ● Engage in leadership-building activities and team collaboration. Enjoy making learning fun. ● Practice public speaking, professional communication, and advocacy skills ● Uphold DYMON community values and program expectations ● Develop a business or service idea rooted in personal interests and community needs ● Participate in the 6-Step Small Business Development curriculum ● Conduct basic market research and identify target customers ● Create a simple business budget and pricing strategy ● Build a brand identity, including a business name and marketing concept ● Complete budgeting and financial literacy activities ● Practice money management skills applicable to personal and business finances ● Understand the role of banking, saving, and reinvestment in entrepreneurship ● Learn digital safety, social media best practices, and professional online presence ● Utilize basic AI and digital tools for productivity, branding, and communication ● Develop professional emails, captions, and written communication ● Participate in headshot and business card development ● Engage in wellness workshops focused on mental, emotional, and physical health ● Learn leadership decorum, professional etiquette, and self-presentation ● Practice confidence-building strategies for interviews and presentations Capstone Project & Demonstration ● Prepare and deliver a 2–3 minute elevator pitch ● Present a final product prototype, service outline, or demonstration ● Reflect on leadership growth, skill development, and future goals

The full program is June 1st – July 17th
June 1st – June 3rd: Interns attend assigned worksite for scheduled times.
June 4th: POWER Youth Summit at Sheraton Music City Nashville Airport
June 5th – July 17th: Team Members on site at their agencies on Monday-Friday at the time
scheduled by employer. You will be scheduled to work 4 hours daily
which equals 20 hours per week.
July 13th – July 17th: POWER Youth Summer Employment Program - End of Summer
Celebration – Team Members can showcase their projects from the
summer.
If you are selected as an Experience Work Team Member, you will make $12.00 an hour and receive a summer program with project-based employment for youth ages 14 -15.
Experience Work projects can be focused on the arts, leadership skills or community development. In addition, you will learn “work ready” skills for future employment. There are opportunities to intern in many areas of Nashville, so please select the opportunity based on your access to transportation.
