Full time CMA position. Practice specialty: podiatry. Hours of operation: 8 am- 3:30 pm. 







Job Description: 



To help doctors and other members of the staff with day-to-day operations in clinic. This includes extensive hands-on training in assisting with procedures, learning how to prep surgical trays, learning the care of instruments (i.e. operating autoclave, adopting sterile technique). The practice also offers its students ample exposure to office diagnostics including ultrasound, x-ray in addition to exposure to a broad spectrum of pathology ranging from wound care to infection to post operative care. The students will also gain insight on other ancillary operations such as casting, and fitting of orthopedic devices which are typical of specialty practice.







Job Duties:



​Under direct supervision by the doctor or trained member of the staff, the student will be expected to check in patients (i.e. taking vitals, taking medical history, updating EMR), assist doctors with scope of therapy (i.e. wound care, injections, casting, durable medical equipment fitting), assisting with in-office diagnostics (i.e. ultrasound and x-ray) adopting aseptic technique (i.e. instrument sterilization, prepping of surgical trays and disposing of hazardous material).


Requirements



Eager to learn, works well with others, and basic computer skills for EMR. No covid vaccine is required.
