Graduate AssistantJob Description
The graduate assistant (GA) (Non-Teaching) will provide critically needed technical support to the center's personnel, faculty, and students during regular hours. The center's hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am - 9:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoots a variety of end user computing and connectivity issues.
Confers with personnel in resolving problems involving procedural and technical matters.
Evaluates and follows through on issues and problems until resolved or escalated.
Researches problems and recommends solutions
Provide assistance maintaining all software on all Northwest Houston Center computers, ensuring compliance with University requirements.
Work with Northwest Houston Center stakeholders to accommodate their server/compute needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at Prairie View A&M University. (Minimum of 9 credit hours during the regular fall and spring semesters and 6 semester credit hours for the summer semester).
Must be in good academic standing.
