Grain Operations Intern

About the Role? 

The Operations Intern responsibilities involve learning and assisting in all aspects of Landus’ grain departments, while gaining exposure to logistics, safety, equipment handling, and customer service. The Intern will maintain positive attitude that promotes teamwork and a professional image for Landus. 

What will you do?? 

• Work in grain office learning about weighing, probing, grading, and communicating bin designation with elevator operators. 
• Assist in train loading for an understanding of the process.  
• Gain understanding of different functions of an elevator including pits, legs, conveyors, maintenance, and housekeeping. 
• Work in outside grain facility, learning to operate PLC elevator controlling system. 
• Learn how to segregate grain according to commodity, moisture level, and other grade factors. 
• Learn about bin temperature and monitoring. 
• Observe Safety Practices in grain department (bin entry, confined space, hot work permits, lock out/ tag out).  
• Learn about Landus’ Quality Program.

Requirements of Role: 

• Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year post-secondary program.
• A valid state drivers license
