Position Description
A Determination of Eligibility (DOE) is a decision by the Department of the Interior that a district, site, building, structure, or object meets the National Register of Historic Places criteria for evaluation. A DOE is required to better understand a structure’s full context, history of maintenance, historical integrity, and significance for potential inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
DOEs for the Fort Moultrie Visitor Center and the Liberty Square Unit of FOSU serve as baseline Section 110 surveys necessary for future resource protection, maintenance, and interpretive efforts.
