Intern - Mining Engineer (Summer 2027) - Linwood Mining and Minerals

Linwood is currently seeking a self-motivated, reliable and safety-oriented Mining Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 at our Davenport, Iowa location.

Our Mining Engineer Intern is responsible for working closely with our Mining Engineer to support the mine operations department through data collection and project management. Each day, our Mining Engineer Intern will be on the move with our Mining Engineer and will spend a majority of their day assisting on required projects and collecting data. The Mining Engineer Intern will also assist in daily time logging and updating mine maps. This position must operate under the highest safety standards and exhibit safe working habits. 

What makes you successful in this position?

• Experience with AutoCad or a similar/equivalent drawing program


• Currently attending college for, or a recent graduate from, a mining-related college program


• A solid understanding of MSHA regulations with the ability to impact safe working practices


• Team player mentality and the desire to be a part of a successful, hard-working team.


• Flexibility.  No two days will be the same!

The Company operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, with some weekend work, as needed. Pay is commensurate with experience.  All Linwood team members must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
