Great Starting Rate of $26.80/hr. #LI-FS1 BASIC PURPOSE/SCOPE The Maintenance Apprentice develops and learns to provide maintenance skills as a resource for the maintenance function to ensure effective equipment operation. Becomes proficient at performing inspections, preventive and predictive maintenance, emergency and other maintenance/mechanical repair of bakery equipment to ensure safe and efficient operational status. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Maintenance Apprentice will focus on completing all required coursework to attain minimum requirements of Maintenance skillsets within a specified amount of time. (Much of the course work is \u201cOn-Line\u201d) \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0They will work with Qualified Maintenance Mechanics to attain OJT and develop practical skills within a specified amount of time. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Maintenance Apprentice will work towards milestones set forth by Maintenance Leadership. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0This will be the first step to grow as a Maintenance Mechanic towards higher levels within the progression path. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Learn and develop, at a minimum, all safety requirements, required mechanical, troubleshooting, communication and behavioral skillsets to function efficiently at minimum required qualified mechanic standards. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Successful completion of required coursework to develop required Maintenance skillsets \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Learn to perform preventive maintenance on bakery equipment. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Assist in inspection and upkeep of machinery and equipment. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Learn to repair/replace components on motors, pumps, mixers, conveyor lines, ovens, coolers, etc. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Learn to inspect/replace belts, hoses, and drive components as needed. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Become proficient at ensuring equipment integrity and timely repair.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Become proficient at completing and documenting work orders on equipment. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensure equipment in area is maintained, guarded and operated in accordance with defined safety regulations and procedures. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Understand levels of line downtime and waste caused by equipment issues and associated points of cause. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Proactively identify improvement focus areas. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Participate in root cause problem solving by team. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Identify potential cost savings and cost avoidance. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Understand levels of line downtime caused by equipment issues and associated points of cause. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Encourage all associates to work in a safe manner and in accordance with defined safety regulations and procedures. \u00a0POSITION REQUIREMENTS \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Fluent in English. \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Pass required exam/test for acceptance into Apprenticeship program \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Flexibility to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as scheduled \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Able to attain basic Maintenance skills \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Able to attain basic computer skills \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ability to work off ground level with proper safety training and safety equipment \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
