Location: New York, United States
About Messier & Associés
Messier & Associés is one of France's leading independent corporate finance houses, established in 2003 by Jean-Marie Messier. Since 2019, the firm has been part of the Mediobanca Group, one of the most respected investment banking franchises in Southern Europe. We advise a sophisticated client base of large global corporates, mid-sized companies, prominent families, and financial sponsors on their most strategic transactions.
Our New York office serves as the firm's hub in the Americas, executing complex cross-border M&A, sell-side and buy-side mandates, strategic advisory engagements, and corporate restructuring transactions.
The Role
We are seeking a M&A Analyst Intern to join our New York team. This is a hands-on, fully-integrated role on live deal teams. From day one, you will work on live execution and origination work across a range of sectors including industrials, energy, consumer, healthcare, technology, and financial sponsors coverage.
What You Will Do
- Work and participate on financial models including operating models, DCFs, LBOs, accretion/dilution analyses, and merger models
- Conduct precedent transactions and trading comparables analyses
- Draft and quality-control client deliverables (pitch books, information memoranda, management presentations, board materials, and discussion materials)
- Perform deep industry, company, and market research, including buyer/target screenings and synthesis of broker reports, PitchBook, CapIQ, and primary sources
- Support live transaction execution: data room management, due diligence coordination, buyer outreach tracking, Q&A logs, and process management
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a top-tier undergraduate, Master's, or MBA program (finance, economics, engineering, business, or related quantitative discipline)
- Strong prior internship experience in investment banking, transaction services, private equity, corporate development, or equity research preferred
- Excellent financial modeling and valuation skills (Excel and PowerPoint proficiency)
- Sharp commercial judgment and intellectual curiosity
- Outstanding written and verbal communication; comfort drafting client-facing materials in English (French a plus given the firm's roots and cross-border deal flow)
- Ability to thrive in a lean, entrepreneurial, senior-led environment where ownership and attention to detail matter from day one
- Authorization to work in the United States
