Are you looking for an engineering internship where you can get out from behind the desk and into the manufacturing process?
Res Manufacturing is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern who wants hands-on experience in a real manufacturing environment. You'll work alongside engineers, manufacturing leaders and production associates while learning how engineering decisions translate into what happens on the plant floor.
This isn't an internship where you'll spend the summer simply observing. You'll learn our operation from the ground up and then apply what you're learning to real engineering and continuous improvement projects.
What You'll Do
You'll begin with hands-on training that includes exposure to manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance. From there, you'll work with our team on projects such as:
- Improving workstation layouts for better workflow, ergonomics and efficiency
- Working directly with machine operators to identify productivity improvements and help implement solutions
- Developing and implementing packaging solutions
- Supporting plant layout, material flow and continuous improvement projects
- Helping take projects from problem identification through implementation
You'll also have the opportunity to present your projects, findings and lessons learned to company leadership at the end of your internship.
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong mechanical, spatial and problem-solving skills
- Curious about how equipment and manufacturing processes work
- Comfortable working on the manufacturing floor as well as in an office environment
- Willing to ask questions, take initiative and learn from experienced employees
- Able to communicate and work effectively with people throughout the organization
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities
Previous manufacturing or internship experience is helpful, but not required. Experience with SolidWorks is beneficial.
Internship Schedule
Full-time during the summer, with the potential for continued part-time work during the school year.
Why Res Manufacturing?
Res Manufacturing is a contract manufacturer specializing in precision metal stamping and related manufacturing processes. Because we're a smaller manufacturing organization, you'll have the opportunity to work directly with experienced engineers and production employees and see projects move from ideas to implementation.
If you're looking for an internship where you can learn manufacturing by being part of it, we'd like to hear from you.
