JOB TITLE: Marketing Intern

REPORTS TO: Business Development Assistant

PURPOSE: This intern will support marketing and business development efforts across Graham Construction/3G Companies through market research, content creation, proposal development, and organization of marketing materials and client information. The intern will gain exposure to the construction industry, company projects, and marketing strategies. At the end of the internship, the intern will complete a project and presentation to communicate their findings and recommendations to the leadership team.

JOB DUTIES:

• Attend weekly Sales/Marketing L10 meetings


• Update contacts in and generate reports from TrebleHook


• Inventory/gather project photos for proposals


• Create content for Graham/3G Companies social media platforms


• Make basic updates to marketing materials using InDesign


• Provide research on customers/companies Graham & 3G Companies are pursuing


• Attend meetings for RFP kickoffs and interview prep


• Support Graham Golf & Wine Dinner Committee in preparation for event


• Review and organize marketing project pages and materials


• Conduct research on vertical markets


• Follow Graham Core Processes


• Assist with development and execution of marketing initiatives across the company


• Assist with RFQ/RFP submissions including research and content writing.


• Research industry trends, competitors and clients to support marketing and business development efforts.


• Collaborate with regional teams to gather marketing content


• Organize client and prospect information and support business development data tracking


• Attend job site tours to gain an understanding of construction projects and the markets 3G Companies serves

• Create and present end of internship project to leadership team


• Complete intern education projects and assignments related to marketing, business development and the construction industry


• Help organize digital assets, update marketing spreadsheets, and coordinate logistics for events or webinars.

• Attend company-wide events, such as the safety meeting, quarterly retreats, State of the Company meeting, and the company golf tournament

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (preferred) or associate degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Development, Communications, or a related field.


• Bonus - Provide marketing portfolio of work to date

• Familiar with Adobe suite, especially InDesign, Canva, Excel, photography is a bonus

• Comfortable learning and working with CRM and database systems


• Great verbal and written communication skills


• Extremely detail-oriented


• Strong leadership skills


• Organizational skills and the ability to manage large amounts of information accurately


• Strong research and analytical skills


• Professional attitude and willingness to learn


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid driver’s license


• Ability to pass post-offer employment testing


• Ability to pass a post-offer drug test


• This is an onsite position. Must be able to work Monday–Friday from the Des Moines, IA office.
