People & Culture Intern

About the Role

The purpose of this internship is to assist Human Resource team members with achieving the department’s goals through a focus on various projects providing exposure to the multiple functions of recruitment, talent development, benefits, compensation and employee relations. In addition, this internship will offer opportunities to enhance your portfolio, put classroom skills into action, and work with multiple business units. 

What will you do? 

Human Resources

• Assist with the creation and formatting of job descriptions. 
• Creating job postings for the job descriptions and making templates in the HRIS.
• Aid in creating a scholarship program for current interns.? 

Foundation Leadership and Community Outreach 

• Participate in community organizations, community engagement. 
• Assist with initiative to support the organization’s commitment. 

Communication/Marketing

• Work with team to create videos for recruitment. 

Training

• Job shadow Training manager to understand New Employee Orientation  
• Learn from the Training Manager on what trainings we provide to new employees.

Safety

• Gain the understanding of location audits. 
• Attend an investigation if possible.

Requirements of Role: 

• Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year post-secondary program with an emphasis in communications, marketing, and/or journalism. 
• A valid state drivers license
