Internship Program Overview

Accelevation is committed to developing future leaders through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that directly impact business outcomes. As a People Operations Intern, you will gain exposure to multiple Human Resources disciplines while supporting key People Operations initiatives that enhance the employee experience and drive organizational success. Throughout the internship, you'll work alongside experienced HR professionals and gain insight into onboarding, payroll, benefits, leave administration, compensation, HR analytics, employee lifecycle management, and process improvement.

 

Your Impact

As a People Operations Intern, you will support the Human Resources team by assisting with core People Operations processes that help ensure a seamless employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle. You will contribute to accurate data management, process efficiency, compliance, reporting, and employee support while gaining hands-on experience across multiple areas of HR. This internship provides valuable exposure to People Operations, employee experience, total rewards, workforce analytics, and HR process improvement within a fast-growing organization.

 

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Support onboarding activities, including new hire preparation, orientation coordination, onboarding schedules, and employee communications

  • Assist with employee data entry, record maintenance, documentation management, and employee lifecycle updates within HR systems

  • Support offboarding activities and related employee documentation processes

  • Partner with payroll team members to learn payroll processes, audits, reporting, controls, and payroll documentation requirements

  • Assist benefits team members with benefits administration, employee communication, enrollment support, audits, reconciliations, and educational resources

  • Support leave administration activities, including case tracking, documentation management, employee communication, reporting, and process coordination

  • Assist compensation team members with market research, benchmarking, workforce data analysis, reporting, dashboards, presentations, and metric development

  • Evaluate existing HR processes and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), process documentation, job aids, and training materials

  • Participate in employee engagement initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and People Operations programs

  • Assist with workforce analytics, reporting, and operational projects

  • Present project recommendations and findings to People Operations leadership as appropriate


Qualifications


  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field

  • Strong interest in Human Resources, People Operations, employee experience, total rewards, business operations, or workforce analytics

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office 365 applications

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment

  • Demonstrated curiosity, professionalism, and willingness to learn

  • Previous internship, administrative, customer service, or campus leadership experience preferred

  • Familiarity with HR systems, payroll systems, reporting platforms, or data analysis tools preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, monitors, keyboards, phones, and related technology.

Physical requirements include prolonged periods of sitting, typing, reviewing documents, preparing reports, analyzing data, and participating in meetings. Employees may occasionally stand, walk, reach, and move office materials as needed. Specific vision abilities required include close visual acuity for viewing computer screens, analyzing reports and data, reviewing documentation, and performing extensive reading. The work environment is typically professional office space with moderate noise levels. Travel requirements, if any, will be minimal and based on business needs.
