Location: West Allis, WI
Department: Performance & Quality Improvement (PQI)
Schedule: Approximately 10 hours per week, flexible schedule based on academic requirements and department needs

Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan (LSS) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Program Intern to join our Performance & Quality Improvement (PQI) team in West Allis. This internship provides a unique opportunity for a graduate-level student to gain hands-on experience in quality improvement, program evaluation, data analysis, compliance, accreditation support, and organizational performance measurement within a leading human services organization. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced PQI professionals to help evaluate program effectiveness, analyze outcomes, support continuous quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to projects that impact services delivered across Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. [PQI Intern | Word]


What You'll Do



  • Assist with data collection, analysis, validation, and reporting.

  • Support program evaluation activities, including surveys, reviews, and outcome measurement tools.

  • Enter and maintain information in databases and Excel spreadsheets.

  • Research evidence-based practices, regulations, and quality standards.

  • Assist with internal program reviews and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

  • Support accreditation and compliance activities, including Council on Accreditation (COA) standards preparation.

  • Help develop reports, tools, and resources that improve service delivery and organizational effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with PQI Analysts, project managers, and program leaders across the agency. [PQI Intern | Word]


What We're Looking For



  • Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program in Social Work, Public Administration, Human Services, Public Health, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • Interest in quality improvement, program evaluation, research, compliance, and data-driven decision making.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with diverse teams.

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately. [PQI Intern | Word]
