Why You Should Apply:
At Crawford County Mental Health Center (CCMHC), you will gain exposure to a wide range of mental and behavioral health services that most students may not experience in a traditional private practice setting. As both a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) and Community Mental Health Center (CMHC), CCMHC offers diverse opportunities to learn, observe, and grow across multiple programs and service areas.
In addition to outpatient therapy services, interns may have opportunities to learn about crisis intervention, care coordination, community-based services, integrated behavioral health care, and the unique challenges and rewards of serving individuals and families throughout southeast Kansas.
CCMHC’s crisis services provide valuable exposure to acute mental health needs and allow students to develop a broader understanding of the behavioral health continuum of care. Interns work alongside experienced professionals, attend team meetings, participate in supervision, and gradually develop clinical skills under close guidance.
Many members of our team began their professional journeys as students or interns. CCMHC is committed to developing future behavioral health professionals and is proud to support internal career growth and advancement. This internship can serve as an excellent pathway toward future employment opportunities within community behavioral health.
This opportunity is intended for students who are not currently employed by CCMHC or for current employees who do not wish to participate in CCMHC’s separate paid practicum, work-study, or scholarship program.
