Overview

The Seasonal Retail Service Agent (Illinois) provides exceptional customer support for retail customers during the peak holiday season. This fully remote, temporary position assists customers through phone and email by resolving questions related to retail experiences, products, purchases, reservations, orders, and services while delivering personalized, professional, and efficient support. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, adaptable, and committed to creating positive customer experiences through first-contact resolution and outstanding service.

Responsibilities

Customer Service & Support

• Deliver exceptional customer service through professional, friendly, and knowledgeable interactions
• Assist customers via phone and email with retail experiences, product inquiries, purchases, reservations, orders, and service-related concerns
• Research and resolve customer issues while striving to achieve first-contact resolution
• Deliver personalized service that addresses each customer's individual needs while maintaining a positive brand experience
• Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment when managing customer concerns and expectations

Order Processing & Customer Account Management

• Process customer orders and transactions accurately while safeguarding confidential customer and payment information
• Utilize multiple systems and resources to research inquiries and provide accurate solutions
• Maintain thorough knowledge of products, retail offerings, promotions, services, and company policies
• Accurately document customer interactions and transactions within company systems
• Communicate effectively with customers and retail store teams through written and verbal channels

Team Support & Performance

• Meet established quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and attendance goals
• Adapt to changing workloads, call volumes, and seasonal business demands
• Support additional customer service initiatives and special projects as assigned
• Work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with team members and retail partners
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all company policies and remote work requirements

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• 1–2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a call center, retail support, consumer services, or similar environment
• Strong attendance history and demonstrated job performance
• Ability to attend mandatory virtual training for up to 10 days
• Availability to participate in a 25–40 hour per week training schedule, Monday through Friday, during designated training hours
• Minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute (880 keystrokes per minute)
• Basic math proficiency
• Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Windows and multiple software applications
• Ability to quickly learn customer service and transactional systems
• Strong data entry skills with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers, retail partners, and internal teams
• Ability to remain calm, composed, and effective while managing changing priorities and customer expectations
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with others
• Must reside in Wisconsin or Illinois and work from the designated home address provided during the hiring process

Preferred

• Previous call center, retail customer support, or consumer service experience
• Experience supporting customers through multiple communication channels, including phone and email
• Experience working in a high-volume or seasonal customer service environment
