Respiratory Therapy Student Extern 2

Inova Fairfax is looking for a dedicated Respiratory Therapist Student Extern 2 to join the team. This role will be PRN.

Job Responsibilities:
 

• Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment available to ensure efficient operations. Collects equipment from all the areas of the hospital and cleans and reassembles equipment according to proper procedure observing standard precautions.
• Performs pre-use checks on all ventilator types to ensure proper equipment function and preparation for use.
• Can participates in Quality Improvement Processes for the department; Relates how processes that are being tracked to enhanced care given at the bedside; Takes an active role in developing new ideas for process improvement and assists other personnel in data collection and interpretation.
• Provides designated direct and indirect patient care activities; Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively.
• Monitors, promotes, and maintains an environment that facilitates safe and effective patient care and reports any changes to the RT.

Additional Requirements:

• Certification - BLS from AHA Upon Start
• Education - High School diploma or equivalent; Must be actively enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program. Student must be in their 2nd year of a two-year Respiratory Therapy Program or equivalent at a four-year Respiratory Therapy Program (Must provide transcripts)
