The student will perform experiments to determine the current and voltage needed to co-deposit uranium and lanthanide metals to support recycling of used nuclear fuel using pyroprocessing technology. They will apply current or voltage to generate deposits, take samples from the product, and relate the deposit composition and morphology to the parameters that were used to generate the deposit.
Education and Experience Requirements
‒ Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
‒ Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or
‒ Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
