Job Description:

• Assist in Planning and Facilitation of Design Den.
  • Staff Mayborn Museum Makerspace, Design Den, during open hours. This includes preparing supplies, set-up and tear down, facilitation, and testing and prototyping activities.
  • Provide high quality customer service while communicating and engaging with visitors using making and tinkering facilitation strategies. 
  • Support Museum Engagement Spark Team student employees & occasional volunteers in Design Den, ensuring they are comfortable and well trained in the space.
  • Work to keep storage closets and supplies organized.
  • Monitor supply inventory and coordinate reorders with STEM Programs Coordinator.    
• Assist in Planning and Facilitation of STEM Programs 
  • Help with events and programs (activities). This will include gathering supplies, testing and prototyping activities, facilitating (leading/supporting), set-up, and tear down.
• Evaluation, Observations, Reflection
  • Research innovative ways to evaluate Design Den & STEM programs
  • Take detailed observations at STEM events, both qualitative and quantitative, and assist in documentation
  • Participate in weekly or bi-weekly reflection meetings to discuss tinkering practices and Design Den programming
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Assist with covering on Museum Engagement team as needed with general museum programming
