Student Writer/Editor

Job Description

Seeking skilled and detail-oriented student writers/editors to prepare and polish scientific manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals. This role focuses on refining scholarly papers to ensure they are clear, well-organized, accurate, and aligned with journal guidelines. The ideal candidates enjoy working with academic writing, can work independently, and  manage deadlines. This position offers valuable mentorship in scholarly publishing and flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and proofread scientific manuscripts prior to journal submission
• Revise content for clarity, tone, grammar, organization, and technical accuracy
• Ensure consistency with required journal and professional style guidelines
• Conduct literature searches and assist with organizing literature reviews as needed
• Prepare or refine tables and graphs using Excel
• Meet established deadlines

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Experience conducting literature searches and synthesizing research

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with professional style guides (e.g., APA, AMA, Chicago)
• Experience creating or formatting tables and figures in Excel
