Description

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.  
 

The Summer Associate will play an active role in this work by supporting experience research, data analysis, journey discovery, and strategic problem-solving efforts. The associate will collaborate with teams across the organization, contribute to executive-ready recommendations, and gain hands-on experience applying analytical thinking and innovation methods to real-world business challenges. This role is ideal for students interested in consulting, strategy, product management, analytics, or user experience.

 

The Summer Associate will work on strategic projects that sit at the intersection of member experience, innovation, analytics, and enterprise transformation. Potential engagements may include helping shape future member journeys, evaluating emerging business opportunities, measuring the impact of enterprise initiatives, developing executive decision-support materials, and researching how evolving technologies and consumer expectations may influence Navy Federal's future strategy.

 



Responsibilities
  • Conduct research, data analysis, and industry benchmarking to identify insights, emerging trends, and opportunities to improve member and employee experiences.
  • Support strategic initiatives by helping evaluate business challenges, define success metrics, measure outcomes, and develop data-driven recommendations.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze member journeys, assess opportunities for innovation, and contribute to solution development.
  • Assist in enterprise orchestration efforts by identifying dependencies, risks, and opportunities across complex initiatives and transformation programs.
  • Develop clear, executive-ready presentations, reports, and communications that translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Participate in workshops, stakeholder engagements, and strategy sessions to support enterprise decision-making and organizational alignment.
  • Apply analytical thinking, human-centered design, and problem-solving skills to help advance Navy Federal's member experience and innovation objectives.


Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Marketing, Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Human-Centered Design, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research, evaluate information, and develop data-driven recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn about member experience, innovation, strategy, and business transformation.
  • Ability to think critically, challenge assumptions, and contribute creative solutions to complex business challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across functions.
