Main Purpose of Role:

Key Responsibilities:
(The primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role)
Lifeguard Duties
Actively supervise the pool, deck, and locker room areas during all aquatic activities
Enforce pool safety rules, camp/school policies, and emergency procedures
Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including water rescues, first aid, and CPR
Conduct safety checks of the pool and equipment before, during, and after programs
Maintain accurate incident and attendance records as required
Swim Instructor Duties
Teach group and private lessons to children ranging from 2.911 years old
Deliver instruction aligned with program curriculum, ability levels, and safety benchmarks
Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
Communicate progress, concerns, and achievements with aquatics leadership as needed
Support camp programming, assessments, and special aquatic events as needed
Serve as an ongoing positive presence within camp through your interactions with campers and other staff, your language, general appearance and behavior
Perform other tasks to support the program as assigned by Aquatics Director / Director/Assistant Director

Preferred: Current Lifeguard Certification (American Red Cross or equivalent) preferred
CPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred
Swim Instructor Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Strong communication skills, professionalism, and reliability
Experience:
At least 1 year of experience working with children (ideally in an aquatics setting)
Fluency with swimming techniques, strokes, and water safety
Preferred that candidates have worked at and attended summer camp settings previously
