POSITION OVERVIEW: Intern will gain hands-on exposure to the banking industry with a primary focus on credit analysis, lending, and relationship management. This internship is designed to provide meaningful learning opportunities through job shadowing, project work, and interaction with banking professionals across multiple departments.

The intern will gain insight into the overall operations of a community bank, develop an understanding of how financial institutions evaluate credit risk, support borrowers, and manage lending relationships.

BANK OVERVIEW:

• Retail and branch banking
• Deposit operations
• Service Center impact
• Compliance and risk management
• Customer service and relationship building
• Bank systems and technologies
• Human Resource overview
• Marketing connections
• Video Banking technology
• Fraud/scam prevention

CREDIT ANALYSIS EXPOSURE:

• Learn the fundamentals of financial statement analysis.

• Develop an understanding of cash flow evaluation and credit risk assessment.

• Gain exposure to the 5 Cs of Credit and other underwriting principles.

• Assist with reviewing financial information, loan presentations, and credit-related projects as appropriate.

LENDING EXPERIENCE

The intern will observe and learn about the lending process from application through approval and servicing, including:

• Consumer, mortgage, agricultural, and commercial lending
• Loan documentation and processing
• Customer interactions and relationship management
• Loan structure and pricing considerations
• Lending regulations and policy requirements

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

• Participate in team meetings and trainings
• Attend customer or community events when appropriate
• Complete special projects related to lending, credit, or banking operations
• Present key learnings or project outcomes to bank leadership

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Agricultural Business, or a related field.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Interest in banking, lending, financial analysis, or relationship management.
