Works in close collaboration with faculty and laboratory staff to perform basic science laboratory research to contribute to the research goals of the laboratory.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

• Education
  Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program pursuing a bachelor's degree or equivalent and must be at least 18 years of age 
  May be required to have specific field of study or education according to assigned area. 
   

JOB DUTIES

• The applicant will perform experiments to determine the effect of pathogenic PUM1 mutations on the NORAD-Pumilio pathway. Under the daily mentorship of an Assistant Professor, the trainee will be familiarized with project-related published literature and trained extensively on experimental techniques, data analysis, and documentation tools.
• Performs routine scientific and medical research work in science area such as biology, chemistry, physics, or other related scientific field.
• Records research data in accordance with prescribed procedures, discussing results with supervisor.
• Assists in collection of data for project reports.
• Reads literature and confers with supervisor concerning implementation of new procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
