MENTAL HEALTH ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Start Date: 8/24/2026


Support the THRIVE Counseling Center in promoting mental health awareness and coordinating outreach initiatives. Assist in communication, event planning, and committee participation to foster mental wellness on campus.


Responsibilities and Career Competencies:



  1. Promote the importance of mental health awareness on campus – C, CTR, L, P, TW

  2. Set up and assist with counseling center activities (e.g., Mental Health Mondays) – TW, P, C

  3. Facilitate campus-wide communication via campus groups and approved THRIVE social media – C, T, CTR

  4. Create, design, and hang flyers and social media content to promote events – T, C, CTR

  5. Attend, participate in, and take notes at monthly student mental health committee meetings – C, P

  6. Assist with outreach, planning, and advertising of monthly mental health awareness activities – L, C, CTR

Education Requirements: Must be a current UPIKE student in good standing. Preferred major in Social Work or strong interest in mental health.


Preferred Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Social Media & New Technology, attention to detail, strong active listening abilities, public speaking, written & verbal communication, willingness to learn.


Work Schedule: Will work with student schedule.


Physical Demands: Keyboarding, Reaching/handling, Stooping/kneeling, Crouching/crawling, Climbing


Number of Positions: 1


Pay Rate: $8.75/hour


Location: Record 600 and other on/off campus activity locations as directed
