The Student Success & Programs Assistant supports the daily operations of the Center for Student Success by assisting students, maintaining office operations, and helping plan and execute campus engagement programs, including What's Up Wednesday (WuW). This position requires excellent customer service, professionalism, organization, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students while promoting student success and engagement.


Responsibilities and Career Competencies



  1. Assist Learning Lab students with campus resources, basic technology needs, and general support. (C, P, CT, T, CTR)

  2. Provide front desk coverage by assisting visitors, answering phones, taking messages, and directing guests. (C, P, CTR)

  3. Support daily office operations, including copying, typing, mail, errands, materials, bulletin boards, and promotional designs. (P, CSD, T, CT)

  4. Assist with planning, promoting, and implementing What’s Up Wednesday (WuW) events with campus partners. (C, TW, L, CT, CTR)

  5. Support event setup, activities, attendance, photography, cleanup, and equipment needs. (TW, P, CT, L)

  6. Manage event attendance through Campus Groups and assist with event-related social media content. (C, T, P, CSD)

  7. Provide feedback and recommendations to improve future programming and student engagement. (C, CT, CSD, CTR)

  8. Communicate professionally with diverse students, faculty, staff, and visitors while supporting the Center’s mission. (C, P, TW, CTR)

  9. Demonstrate punctuality, integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with FERPA and University policies. (P, CSD)

  10. Complete additional duties and special projects supporting the Center and campus programming. (TW, P, CSD, CT)

Additional Comments: Work hours are flexible to accommodate the student's class schedule and the Center's operational needs. Most What's Up Wednesday events begin at 7:30 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m., with approximately one hour of preparation time before the event.
