Job Description - Affiliate Faculty - Chemistry - Jensen Lab (no salary)

Job Title: Affiliate Faculty - Chemistry - Jensen Lab (no salary)

 

Posting End Date: January 30, 2026

Position Start Date: February 17, 2026

 

Required Degree:  Ph.D. in microbiology, cell biology, or structural biology

The required degree must be completed by the start date. 

 

Experience:  Experience with cell culture and molecular biology. Deep knowledge of and experience with cryo-ET theory and practice including cryo-FIB milling. Strong work ethic.  Good reasoning, social, writing, and verbal skills.

 

Duties/Expectations: Obtain cryo-ET 3d images of chromatin structures. This includes preparing samples, recording tilt-series, calculating 3d reconstructions, producing sub-tomogram averages, building integrative atomic models, and writing papers and grants.
