Ambulatory Patient Assistant- Primary Care Northland

Essential Functions:

• Performs clerical office coordination and administrative tasks as necessary.

• Collects, documents, and reports vital signs. Completes screening questions and documents all items into medical record.

• Promotes general patient safety and performs minor specimen testing. Holds, positions patients, and assists with procedures. Preps all materials and supplies as needed.

• Remains compliant with HIPAA, maintains professionalism and ensures confidentiality of patient information.

• Ensures environmental standards are met and all clinic and patient areas are stocked, cleaned, and maintained.

• Identifies learning needs, completes continuing education, and participates in offered educational opportunities. Acts as a preceptor and trains other staff.
  
   

Education Requirement:

Licensure Requirement:

Active State Tested Nurse Aide License in the State of Ohio, preferred.

Certifications:

Current CPR certification (BLS for healthcare provider required), required.

Skills:

• Effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

• Must demonstrate competence as defined in the Patient Care Assistant responsibilities/skills checklist in providing age appropriate care and services to pediatric patients of all ages and selected adult patients.

• Displays a positive presence and interacts with patients, families, staff, outside vendors, consultants, and physicians.

Experience:

One year of patient care experience in a hospital setting within the last three years, preferred.
