Location Requirement: Candidate required to reside in Des Moines metro.
Work Schedule: This is a part-time role (20 hours per week), scheduled for 4 hours per day. Daily work hours must fall between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM cst.
The Bond Claims and Mail Associate supports the Bond Claims team by managing claim documentation, preparing correspondence, and maintaining accurate records within the claims system. The role opens and organizes new claim files, processes indemnity agreements, and oversees all centralized outgoing mail functions. The position also handles financial tasks such as preparing checks, recording recoveries, reviewing invoices, and coordinating with vendors, outside counsel, and internal partners. Additionally, it ensures proper file closure and prepares completed files for off‑site storage.
Essential Functions:
Collaborates with Bond Claims team members to efficiently enter and maintain documents in claims system.
Prepares letters, such as acknowledgements, notices, indemnity releases, and check transmittals.
E-docs claim documents into files. Enters information into claims system.
Opens new preliminary claim files, sets signal reserves, and prepares initial claim notes in claims system.
Scans documentation received to claim files and labels documents within claim files.
Files general indemnity agreements (GAIs) for new and existing accounts received.
Ensures acknowledgement letters are sent confirming execution of GAIs.
Handles all tasks related to centralized outgoing mail for EMC Bond.
Prepares and inputs checks for payment of claims and enters recoveries received on claim files and transmittal of payments.
Assists Bond Support and Claims Associate in coordinating information for outside counsel, consultants, and vendors.
Maintains vendor information and codes.
Reviews and prepares payments of bills. Contacts vendors and billing support as questions arise.
Prepares closed files for off-site storage.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Accurate data entry skills
Good organizational skills
Knowledge of Excel and Word
Ability to file alpha and numeric information accurately
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work on multiple tasks at one time while meeting deadlines
The hiring salary range for this position will vary based on geographic location, falling within either of the following:
$36,270 - $44,261 or $36,270 - $48,810A hiring range represents a subset of the full salary range. The actual salary will depend on several factors, including relevant education, skills, and experience of an applicant, geographic location, and business needs.
