The BSCNC Liaison serves as a strategic connector between Wingate University, Baptist churches, associations, and the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. The position advances the University’s mission by strengthening Baptist-affiliated student recruitment, stewarding church and association relationships, supporting student ministries, and advising University leadership on matters related to Baptist engagement and identity.

The Liaison works collaboratively with Enrollment Management, Student Life, Campus Ministries, and the University Chaplain, and serves as an advisor to the President and senior leadership team.

1.    Church & Association Engagement

• Serve as the primary liaison to the Union Baptist Association and individual Baptist churches
• Build and sustain long-term relationships with pastors, church staff, and association leaders
• Coordinate communication, campus engagement opportunities, and partnership activities
• Ensure consistent, responsive, and mission-aligned engagement with Baptist partners

2.    Student Recruitment & Enrollment Support

• Support strategic recruitment of students from Baptist churches and associations across North Carolina

• Collaborate with Admissions to strengthen values-based enrollment pipelines

• Engage pastors, youth ministers, and church leaders in recruitment conversations and outreach efforts

• Assist with campus visits, church-based events, and targeted recruitment initiatives

• Support access-focused recruitment efforts, including first-generation and service-minded students

3.    Student Ministries & Spiritual Life Support

• Collaborate with the University Chaplain and campus ministry leaders to support Baptist-affiliated student ministries

• Assist in connecting students to local churches and faith-based service opportunities, as appropriate

• Support programs that integrate faith, leadership, service, and vocation

• Contribute to a campus environment that welcomes students of all backgrounds while honoring Wingate’s Baptist heritage

4. Presidential & Senior Leadership Advising

• Advise the President and senior leadership team on Baptist engagement, partnerships, and emerging trends

• Provide insight on issues affecting Baptist higher education, church-university relationships, and student faith development

• Support institutional strategy related to mission, identity, and external partnerships

• Collaborate closely with the University Chaplain to ensure alignment and shared leadership
