Job Description - Certified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter


Location: Orlando, FL (Remote and On-Site)

Job Title: Certified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter

Job Type: Part-Time

Duties:

  • Provide ASL interpretation for a Deaf professional in the Veterans Health Administration, both on-site and virtually.
  • Support training sessions and meetings by translating spoken English to ASL and vice versa.
  • Adapt quickly to last-minute schedule changes and work in high-pressure environments.
  • Use virtual platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams for remote interpreting.
  • Collaborate with a team of interpreters to ensure consistent service.

Requirements:

  • Certified ASL Interpreter (NAD, RID, or equivalent) with 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Proficient in voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice interpretation.
  • Experience with VA or similar government agencies preferred.
  • Strong customer service and flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
