Meritus Health is seeking compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA I or CNA II) to join our patient care team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed nurse to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a safe and supportive environment. Position Summary

The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and support services, assisting with personal care needs, monitoring patient conditions, documenting care, and maintaining a clean and safe patient environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence in patient care. 

Essential Responsibilities

• 
  

  Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, skin care, and toileting needs.

  
  


• 
  

  Provide care that promotes patient comfort, dignity, and well-being.

  
  


• 
  

  Obtain and record vital signs and collect specimens as directed.

  
  


• 
  

  Assist with patient transportation and other delegated nursing support tasks.

  
  


• 
  

  Apply non-sterile dressings, perform surgical preparations, and assist with treatments as directed by licensed nursing staff.

  
  


• 
  

  Document patient care accurately and completely.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient care environment.

  
  


• 
  

  Respond promptly to patient call lights and requests.

  
  


• 
  

  Communicate patient observations and concerns to the assigned nurse.

  
  


• 
  

  Support ethical and patient-centered care by respecting patient rights, beliefs, values, and autonomy. 

  
  

Qualifications

Education

• 
  

  High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Program required. 

  
  

Experience

• 
  

  Previous healthcare experience preferred. 

  
  

Certifications

• 
  

  Current Maryland CNA I or CNA II certification required.

  
  


• 
  

  Current BLS/CPR certification required in accordance with organizational policy.

Physical Requirements

The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday. Candidates must be able to perform the essential physical functions necessary to safely care for patients in a clinical healthcare environment.
