General Summary:

The Courier Delivery Driver is responsible for operating any MVHC passenger vehicle, in a safe, professional manner. The Courier Delivery Driver is also responsible for recording specimen and mail cargo counts during pickup, and delivery to MVHC lab and office sites.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 


  • 18 Years of Age

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Current and valid State of Ohio Driver’s License

  • Ability to understand and adhere to oral and written instructions

  • Possess good writing, reading and communication skills

  • Pass standard DOT Physical and substance abuse test annually

  • Pass pre-employment and random drug & alcohol test as required

  • Pass a criminal background check

  • Pass a MVR background check

  • Be physically able to push, pull or lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Duties and Responsibilities:

There are three (3) major areas of responsibilities;

 


  1. Operate MVHC vehicles in a safe and professional manner.

    1. Safety of passenger and employee is #1 responsibility;

    2. Exercise professionalism at all times;

    3. Operate vehicle on assigned route following guidelines and procedures outlined in MVHC Policy and Procedure Manuals, as well as the MVHC Employee Manual:

    4. Understand and adhere to all policy, procedures and guidelines as outlined in MVHC Policy and Procedure Manuals, as well as the MVHC Employee Manual:

    5. Comply with all local, state and federal regulations;

    6. Inform and distribute information to passengers as directed;

    7. Keep vehicle clean and clear of all safety hazards;

    8. Comprehend full knowledge of all MVHC routes and schedules

    9. Monitor and operate vehicle radio in order to maintain constant contact with base;

    10. Deliver Prescription orders and/or supplies to patients’ homes and other facilities.

    11. Provide timely and accurate delivery of medication, specimens, mail bags, and products.

    12. Ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met.

    13. Monitor and operate vehicle radio in order to maintain constant contact with base;

    14. Other duties as assigned



  2. Record and track medication, specimen, and mail deliveries

    1.  Issue and collect transfers in accordance with MVHC Policy and Procedure;

    2. Record pickup and delivery counts in accordance with MVHC Policy and Procedure;

    3. Cooperate and assist with special counts and surveys of transit related activities as directed;

    4. Input data into tablet on route in order to assure accuracy, and be certain that data entered into tablet is correct, or as close to correct as the circumstances allow;

    5. Other duties as assigned

    6. Keep an accurate count of all assigned delivery parcels.

    7. Return undelivered parcels to the pharmacy at the end of the day



  3. Monitor and report operational condition of MVHC vehicles.

    1. Perform Pre/Post Trip inspection report in accordance with MVHC Policy and Procedure and FTA and ODOT, Office of Transit requirements;

    2. Report any defects immediately upon detection;

    3. Inspect inside of vehicle for garbage, lost items, damage and /or safety hazards;

    4. Complete accident/incident reports when appropriate;

    5. Other duties as assigned.
