CRNA Assistant Professor, Non Tenure, Part Time

SUMMARY: This non-tenure-earning faculty position will teach in the CRNA Program, engage in scholarly
activity, mentor graduate nursing students, and contribute to college, university, community, and professional service in alignment with the university’s criteria for appointment at the Assistant Professor rank.

This part-time, non-tenure-earning faculty position will support the CRNA Program through teaching, student
mentorship, and other academic activities consistent with the needs of the program and the faculty member’s assigned FTE.  The faculty member will contribute to the educational mission of the College and participate in service and scholarly activities, as appropriate to the appointment and consistent with University criteria for appointment at the Assistant Professor rank.

The part-time faculty member will support the CRNA Program through didactic, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical residency instruction based on program needs and assigned effort. Responsibilities may include student instruction and mentorship, participation in course and curriculum activities, and evaluation of students and clinical learning experiences, as appropriate. The faculty member may also participate in College, University, community, or professional service and scholarly activities consistent with the scope and FTE of the part-time appointment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Must hold, or be eligible for, licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Florida by the start date.

Must hold national certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).

Current clinical practice as a CRNA/APRN in the state of Florida.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of one year of post-secondary teaching experience in a college or school of nursing.

Demonstrated expertise in teaching and/or curriculum development in pharmacology, physiology, pathophysiology, nurse anesthesia, or related content.

Experience with technology-supported educational methods, including online and blended formats.

Experience with simulation-based learning.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, faculty, clinical partners, and community partners.

Evidence of scholarly activity through publications, presentations, external funding, or other relevant contributions.
